Help and troubleshooting
arcon doctor does the same checks in a terminal.Arcon Support
Arcon Support is a Help chat in every Arcon app. Describe the problem in your own words (or tap a suggestion like My phone doesn’t update) and it checks your setup, tells you what it found in plain words, and offers to fix it. It runs on your paired computer, using your own Claude Code or Codex with a fast model, and it uses Arcon’s own diagnostic tools rather than improvising.
More → Help and support, the ? button on Home, or Get help on an error screen.
- While it works you see small live notes like “Checking your connection…”, and a connection map (Cloud, Computer, Claude Code or Codex, Phone, Desktop) with the weak link highlighted.
- When it can fix something, it shows what will change and waits for you: Fix it or Not now. Fixes only touch Arcon’s own files and processes, and each one says how to undo it.
- If it can’t fix it, it sends a redacted report to the Arcon team (Sent to the Arcon team), and their reply arrives in the same chat.
- Computer off, or Arcon not running? The chat still opens with a short checklist: is the computer on,
arcon status,arcon start --detach,arcon doctor.
It never asks for passwords or codes, and it never runs anything but Arcon’s own commands.
arcon doctor
Run it on the computer where Arcon runs. It checks everything between that computer and your phone and explains each problem in one sentence.

1 thing to look at (0 problems, 1 warning).
● Cloud reachable
● Computer paired · running
● Claude Code hooks installed
● Phone 2 devices
○ Desktop not open
✓ This computer is paired
✓ Arcon is running on this computer
✓ Claude Code reports to Arcon
! Approvals can reach your phone — Claude Code is set to decide permissions on its own,
so it never asks for approval and nothing shows up in your phone's inbox.
→ Only if you want approvals on your phone: in Claude Code run /permissions …
✓ Agents know how to use ArconNext to each problem it shows the fix:
arcon doctor --fix restart-daemon # apply one fix (ids are in the report)arcon doctor --fix-safe # apply every safe, automatic fixFixes only touch Arcon’s own things (~/.arcon, Arcon’s entries in Claude Code’s settings, the Arcon skill, Arcon’s section in ~/.codex/AGENTS.md, ~/.local/bin/arcon). They never delete your data, never change your own agent settings and never touch your repositories. Some fixes need you, for example changing Claude Code’s permission mode; doctor tells you exactly what to do. arcon doctor --json gives the full report for scripts.
Symptoms and fixes
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| My phone doesn’t update / a session is missing | Run arcon status. Not running? arcon start --detach. Hooks missing? arcon install claude-code, then restart Claude Code. On Windows, make sure Arcon and Claude Code are both in WSL (or both not). Still stuck: arcon doctor. |
| I didn’t get a sign-in code | Check spam, use the newest email, don’t use Already have a code? unless you have one, and wait a few minutes after “Too many codes requested”. See Get access. |
| Approvals don’t reach my phone | Claude Code is probably in auto (or bypass) permission mode, so it never asks: see permission mode. Also check that Arcon is running (otherwise requests stay in the terminal), that notifications are on, and whether you chose “Always allow” for that tool earlier. |
| Codex approvals stay in the terminal | Run arcon install codex, then in Codex type /hooks and press t to trust Arcon’s hooks (again after an update that changes them), and restart the Codex session. arcon doctor says whether the hooks are installed and trusted. The phone gets 2 minutes before Codex asks in the terminal. |
| “Pairing was declined on the phone” | Someone tapped This isn’t my computer on the confirmation screen. If that was a mistake, run arcon pair again and tap Pair this time. |
| Codex steps don’t show | Codex sessions started before Arcon was running aren’t followed; start a new one. Run arcon install skill so Codex reports its checklist. Doctor’s “Sandboxed agents can reach Arcon” check covers Codex’s sandbox. |
| A session is stuck on Running or Waiting | If Take over is on, the agent is waiting for your phone: send a message or switch it off. Otherwise use Stop. Arcon also marks sessions idle after 45 minutes without activity, and arcon stop then arcon start --detach clears anything left waiting. |
| My message didn’t reach Claude | Messages arrive at the agent’s next step or when it finishes its turn. If it’s already idle at its prompt, turn on Take over before you leave, or type in the terminal. arcon status shows undelivered messages. |
| The Windows app says Arcon isn’t running (computer offline) | Click Start Arcon in the app, or start it where it’s installed: arcon start --detach (in WSL if you use WSL). After a reboot or wsl --shutdown it has to be started again; while the Windows app is open it keeps WSL running. |
| “Arcon’s cloud isn’t answering” (project paused) | The service is paused or restarting, and nothing is wrong on your side. Give it a few minutes; if it lasts, let the team know through Help or hello@arcon.dev. Can’t reach it at all? Check your internet, VPN or firewall. |
| “connector revoked” / “Could not restore the connector session” | The computer was removed from your account, or offline for a very long time. Run arcon pair again. |
| “another arcon daemon is already running” | arcon stop, then arcon start --detach. |
| Windows (native): the hooks do nothing | Claude Code can’t find arcon. Open a new terminal after installing (the installer changed your PATH), check with where arcon, and restart Claude Code. |

Contact the team
Ask Arcon Support to send your problem to the team (it attaches a redacted report), or write to hello@arcon.dev. A person reads every message.
