What’s new

The latest connector is 0.12.0. This release is mostly about trust: releases you can verify, pairings you confirm, and a Windows app that keeps Arcon running. Older releases are in the changelog.

Connector 0.12.0

  • Signed releases. Every connector release is signed with Arcon’s Ed25519 release key. The one-line installer checks the checksum and the signature before installing, and arcon update checks it too. See Install the connector.
  • Pairing you confirm. After you scan or type the code, the phone shows the computer’s name, system, roughly where the request came from and when, and nothing is paired until you tap Pair. This isn’t my computer declines it, and codes are only taken from your own screen, never from a link. See Pair it with your phone.
  • The Windows app pairs through your phone. The desktop app can approve and answer on its own computer only after you approve Pair Arcon for Windows on the phone, and it talks to the connector over a local connection that needs a token.
  • Hardening from a security audit, including stricter checks on how Arcon starts programs and which models it will run, and Arcon Support can no longer read your sign-in.

Phone, web and Windows

  • Arcon for Windows keeps WSL running while it’s open, so Arcon doesn’t stop when you close your last terminal. It offers Start Arcon when Arcon isn’t running and explains WSL problems in plain words. See Keeping Arcon running in WSL.
  • Codex approvals on your phone need the hooks trusted once in Codex (/hooks, then t), and again after an update that changes them. arcon doctor tells you when. See Codex approvals.
  • Decisions made on the computer show up on your phone too, so you never answer the same request twice.

Also in recent releases

  • Agents ask instead of stopping. When an agent needs a decision, Arcon finds you: at your desk first, then on your phone, and the session carries on with your answer.
  • Cross-review (opt-in): a second agent checks the work.
  • The loop breaker notices an agent repeating the same failing step, nudges it, and pauses it if it keeps going.
  • Project memory (opt-in) gives new sessions what Arcon has learned about the project.

How to update

Terminal
arcon update --checkarcon update

Or run the one-line installer again. The phone app updates itself (More → Settings → About shows the version), and the web app picks up a new version the next time you open it.
